Signature Drink #1
THE ZELDA AND THE F. SCOTT
Potent and memorable like their namesakes, there are two versions of this cocktail:
one masculine and one feminine.
Blends sparkling wine, Cointreau, cinnamon infused brandy, and a dash of orange bitters. To transform this drink into its feminine counterpart, add a raw sugar cube garnish for a bit of sweetness.
Recipe:
5 ounces of Champagne
1/2 ounce of Cinnamon infused Brandy
A dash of orange bitters
and Sugar in the rock
Signature Drink #2
THE MARILYN
Exactly how Ms. Monroe would have wanted her cocktail: sexy, glamorous, and refined.
This drink simply oozes warm-weather flavors with its blend of gin, St. Germain, and sparkling wine.
Recipe:
1/2 part St. Germain
1 part Gin
Top with Sparkling Wine
Signature Drink #3
THE MAGNOLIA
This light refreshing cocktail is reminiscent of a fruity Sangria with a blend of Goji Berry, Vine Flower Liquor and Sparkling red wine. Perfect for summer nuptials!
Recipe:
5 ounces of Goji Berry
5 ounces June Liquor
6 ounces Rose Champagne
1 Lemon Round
The weather was perfect, so we decided to check out the buzz surrounding Brooklyn Flea's latest version of Smorgasburg (called Smorgasbar)at South Street Seaport.
Pizza Moto, Asia Dog, as well as beer and booze filled slushies were highlights of the day!
1st we enjoyed 2 veggie dogs from Asia Dog - 1 Mel & Steve and 1 Mash. The asian inspired topping for the M&S was a great tasting sesame slaw. The Mash was topped with potato chips! 2 for $9 so the pricing was good. Both tasted excellent and were filling!
Pizza Moto was next and we decided to try the Margherita. Very nice size for the price ($10). Made fresh from a brick-oven, the tomato sauce was so delicious we were considering a 2nd pie.
.
What I loved most about this smaller version of Smorgasburg are the lack of crowds and lines. Getting food was pretty quick. Hardly a wait for any of the options. Many picnic style seats were available. It's a pleasant space large enough to still give you an intimate feel. $6 for a beer, $12 for the boozy-slushy. Ours was filled with bourbon and as long as you tip they will "tip". Although the drink prices seemed a little high, we were having such a great time that pricing suddenly didn't matter as much.
After all the amazing food and drinks, we walked it off by crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. Beautiful, movie-like scenery from 1 of the greatest cities in the world. This was a great way to enjoy the weather. Highly recommended!
